Ways to Help Restaurants Affected by Recent Hurricanes

Even weeks later, numerous southern states continue to feel the devastating effects of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. And the effects weren't limited to residents—businesses like bars, restaurants, and hotels were also severely impacted.

If you're looking for ways to help—or perhaps need support for your own business—we've compiled a list of resources below:

Children of Restaurant Employees (CORE)

CORE, a non-profit who provides financial grants to food and beverage service employees with children faced with a life-altering medical crisis or natural disaster, has received an unprecedented number of grant applications from families in need due to the recent hurricanes. To meet the increased demand, CORE has set up a fund to help food & beverage families affected by Hurricane Helene.

Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association

The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) Disaster Relief Fund is set to help restaurants and lodging establishments to recover, repair and reopen and to support employees who are financially needy or distressed from the impacts of the HurricaneHelene.

North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association

North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association’s comprehensive Hurricane Helene dedicated website, Recovery Help for Western NC, offers resources for those impacted, along with ways to reach out and help. This page includes “general information” as well as ways to donate, volunteer, the latest hotel and restaurant reopening updates and more. Other funds will go directly to hotel and restaurant employees, while another is set up for businesses looking for financial assistance.

National Restaurant Association

The National Restaurant Association has compiled a collection of hurricane recovery resources, including a list of associations and organizations that can help.

Another Round, Another Rally

The nonprofit Another Round, Another Rally offers a Disaster Relief Aid program for hospitality workers impacted by a natural disaster. Aid may come in the form of grocery store vouchers, direct financial assistance, or other relief resources depending on employee needs and available resources.
