2014 Recipe File: Thanksgiving Cocktails

The day America sits back with family and gives thanks is quickly approaching. And, in the bar industry, we all know what Thanksgiving means…Thanksgiving Eve shenanigans. Next Wednesday is one of the biggest party days of the year and Nightclub & Bar wants you to be prepared to make some sales on festive cocktails. Start killin’ it with these holiday inspired drinks!

More Than a Barrel Full O’ Turkeys

1 oz. Wild Turkey Spiced
1 oz. Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon
1 Dash Absinthe
1/2 oz. Orange Juice
1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1 Barspoon Cardamom-Infused Grenadine

Shake and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with orange spiral.

Cardamom-infused grenadine
1 Cup Pomm Juice
2 Cups sugar
20 Cardamom pods

Bring to slow boil, dissolve all sugar. Cover and let sit off heat for 20 minutes, strain, cool and store.

Ginger Lemon Drop

2 oz. Ginger Cardamom Infused vodka
3/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 tsp. Superfine Sugar
Garnish: Cocktail Sugar Rim

Infuse your favorite vodka with rokz ginger cardamom infusion. Combine the vodka, lemon juice, and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with rokz lemon infused cocktail sugar. Enjoy!

1 1/2 oz. Cinnamon-Infused Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Apple Cider
1/2 oz. Egg White
3/4 oz. Maple Simple
Baked Apple Bitters
Absinthe

Combine ingredients in a shaker and dry shake. Add ice and shake again. Pour into a coupe glass and spray Absinthe and Baked Apple Bitters on top.

Maple Old Fashioned

1 oz. Wild Turkey 81 Rye
3/4 oz. Applejack
1/4 oz. Nocino Liqueur
1 Bar Spoon of Grade B Maple Syrup
1 Dash of Angostura Bitters

Serve over a big rock cube and orange twist and garnish with a sprinkle of Nutmeg.

Maple Old Fashioned


Holiday “Sauce”

1 1/2 oz. Hennessy V.S
1/2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
Heaping Tablespoon of Cranberry Sauce (the kind you would have with turkey)
1 dash fee brothers cranberry bitters (optional)
Garnish: Orange Twist, Cinnamon sugar rim
Glass: Coupe or martini

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice, shake until well chilled.  Take the coupe or martini glass and rub the rim with a fresh cut lemon, now dip the rim in a plate of cinnamon sugar (1 part cinnamon to 1 part white sugar).  Strain the cocktail into the rimmed glass and garnish with an orange twist.
