Super Bowl LIX is just around the corner, and the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday, February 9.

If your bar or restaurant is showing the game, you're probably expecting an influx of traffic on Sunday. Restaurant tech platform Toast analyzed data from restaurants and highlighted a few tips for restaurants to use this Sunday:

  • The steepest decline in orders happens between 6-9 p.m., with transactions down 47% at 7 p.m. As such, restaurants may choose to focus on pre-orders and takeout specials to capture sales early!
  • Of 57% of consumers planning to patronize restaurants for the Big Game, the most popular plan is a combination of takeout and cooking at home (29%)
  • Buy-one, get-one (BOGO) deals were the most effective restaurant sales, driving 42% of game-day sales.

To get you ready for a game-winning Sunday, we've collected some Super Bowl recipes below.

Chonchos in Ponchos

Ingredients:

3 tbs butter

1 tsp chopped garlic

8 oz spicy smoke Cajun sausage or kielbasa, casing removed

4 oz Monterey Jack cheese, cut into 1/4x1/2 in slices

1 long jalapeno pepper, sliced into thin rings

8 oz tube refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/3 cup crumbled cotija cheese or other mild cheese

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small pan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the garlic.
  3. Cut the sausage into 2-inch lengths. Split each piece lengthwise down the middle, stopping just before you cut all the way through. Hold the sausage open and stuff with 1 slice of Monterey Jack and 2 slices of jalapeno.
  4. Remove the crescent rolls from the tube and separate into triangles. Place 1 piece of sausage lengthwise on the wide end of each piece of dough. Fold the ends toward the center, burrito style, and roll to completely cover the sausage. Pinch the edges of the dough closed.
  5. Place on the baking sheet. Brush each roll with the garlic butter and sprinkle with cotija. Press the cheese into the dough using your fingers.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
