NEW YORK, NY- June 2009 – This summer, Bombay Sapphire partners up for the third year with GQ Magazine for the 2009 “Inspired Bartender Search.” Bombay Sapphire's team of Master Mixologists will embark on an exciting trip across America to discover what the country’s most skilled bartenders are concocting with their favorite gin. The search for these creative cocktails will expose the latest mixology trends, the hottest ingredients, and the most inventive tricks of the trade within the mixology industry.
Beginning in June through August, bartenders from cities such as Aspen, San Diego, Chicago, Nashville, Detroit, Miami, Dallas and many more will compete to be deemed as the Nation’s Most Inspired Bartender. Participants' Bombay Sapphire cocktails will be sampled and judged based on originality, presentation, flavor and taste. This summer’s program will also go digital with the introduction of the Voter’s Choice Winner. This new feature will allow instant consumer participation, enabling local fans the chance to weigh in and cast their vote via mobile or text on whose cocktail they find to be the most inspired.
In addition to flaunting their innovative and exciting cocktails, each market winner will be featured in the highly anticipated GQ “Man of the Year” issue which includes a photo and recipe of their winning creations for GQ’s readers. The top ten finalists will be flown to Las Vegas on August 31st for a thrilling finale.
