Cool Off Your Customers on National Iced Tea Day with a Long Island

Long Island Iced TeaWe have another beverage holiday to celebrate because today is National Iced Tea Day. One way to enjoy this special drink day is by following my lead and stopping at your local coffee shop to order a medium iced tea. However, how can you celebrate National Iced Tea Day as a bar owner, without having to give away your own money? Push some Long Islands over your bar, of course!

The Long Island Iced Tea has a bit of an ambiguous history but many believe it was created in the 1960’s. Regardless when the popular drink came to be, the cocktail mixed with spirits, triple sec and a splash of cola is an undeniable money-maker, especially in the summer when customers are looking for something refreshing to cool them off. We have provided a classic Long Island Iced Tea recipe so you can have your bartenders upsell this cocktail on National Iced Tea Day!

1/2 oz. white rum
1/2 oz. triple sec
1/2 oz. simple syrup
