Houston, TX – Pisco Portón, LLC announces the addition of Pisco Portón Acholado to the company’s portfolio. Following the growth of the company’s flagship, Pisco Portón Mosto Verde, the rise of its newest offering, La Caravedo, launched late 2014, and US consumer demand for high quality pisco, the company is expanding its portfolio to offer additional expressions designed to fulfill market opportunities. Pisco Portón Acholado is handcrafted with the same quality, authenticity, and heritage distinctive to Pisco Portón’s portfolio. All expressions are produced by renowned pisco authority and Pisco Portón’s Master Distiller Johnny Schuler at Hacienda La Caravedo located in Ica, Peru which was established in 1684.
“The growth of Peruvian pisco is on the rise in the United States with demand increasing 59% in 2015. The Pisco Portón portfolio continues to grow as well with our flagship, Pisco Portón Mosto Verde, leading the pisco category as the #1 exported pisco to the US from Peru. Our pisco puro, La Caravedo, is already the third largest exported pisco to the US from Peru. With the demand for high quality pisco growing, we wanted to expand our offering to include an acholado that provides a premium blend and rounds out the portfolio to offer all three styles of Peruvian pisco.” says Brent Kallop, President of Pisco Portón LLC. “We are also proud to announce that Pisco Portón Acholado was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and appreciate the recognition of our efforts to produce the finest handcrafted piscos.”
Pisco Portón Acholado is a pisco acholado, which means it is a blend of two or more of the eight grape varietals allowed by Peruvian law to make pisco. Pisco Portón Acholado is a smooth, delicate blend of three estate-grown grapes (Quebranta, Italia, Torontel), carefully crafted by Master Distiller Johnny Schuler. His artistry and deep experience create a unique blend that is versatile, mixable, and pairs well with a variety of flavors. There are 8 lbs. of grapes in every bottle.
"We are thrilled to introduce Pisco Portón Acholado to the US market. With demand increasing and more call for our portfolio of piscos, this new addition allows us to reach more people and share the heritage of our native spirit and the tradition of Hacienda La Caravedo," says Master Distiller Johnny Schuler.
