Valentineas Day Drinks: Cupidas Cocktails

Love is in the air this time of year, with dinner dates, bouquets of flowers and chocolate candies galore. While couples — or singles — are out celebrating, tempt them with a Valentine’s Day-themed cocktail. The recipes listed here are sure to spark your sales and put an extra spring in their step.

Latin Lover Mojito
On the menu at Barclay Bar & Grill in the InterContinental New York Barclay.
1 ½ ounces Bacardi Silver Rum
2 ounces brown sugar
2 squeezed limes
Splash ginger ale
Fresh mint leaves
Raspberries

Muddle mint leaves, raspberries, lime and sugar. Mix with crushed ice, splash of ginger ale, top with more crushed ice, garnish with raspberries and a mint sprig.


Midori Sweetheart
Created by mixologist Victoria D’Amato Moran.
1 part Midori Melon Liqueur
1 part Skyy Passion Fruit Infusions
½ parts elderflower liqueur
2 parts Welch’s passion fruit juice
½ parts fresh lemon juice
2 drops of honey (1/4 tsp.)

Midori Sweetheart cocktail
 
Add ingredients into a chilled shaker glass, and add ice. Shake and strain into a chilled 6-ounce cocktail glass. Garnish with pink or red rose petals and sprinkle with Silver leaf flakes sitting in drink.


Ah-SIGH-ee You Checking Me Out

2 ounces VeeV Açaí Spirit
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 ounce simple syrup
3 dashes of grenadine
Top with Champagne
Rose petal, for garnish

Shake all ingredients well and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Top with Champagne and garnish with the rose petal.


Love Letter

1 ounce Campari
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
¾ ounce Cointreau
¼ ounce maple syrup
¼ ounce Small Hand Foods Grenadine
1 ½ ounces club soda
3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Love Letter Cocktail

Dilute maple syrup with ¼ ounce water. Combine all ingredients except soda in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Add soda and pour over ice in highball glass and garnish with a lime zest.


Chocolate Raspberry Truffle

1 ounce Godiva Liqueur
1 ounce Culinary Traditions Raspberry
½ ounce vodka
½ ounce simple syurp

Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and then strain into a Martini glass and serve.


The One Good Pinch Punch
Created by Phil Ward of Mayahuel, NYC.
2 ounces  Flor de Caña 7-year-old rum
1 seedless watermelon
One good pinch of Cayenne pepper
4 sugar cubes
1 ounce lime juice
1 ounce club soda

Dissolve the sugar cubes in 1 ounce of club soda. Add and muddle several 1-inch pieces of watermelon. Finally, add the rest of the ingredients one at a time and stir as added. Chill.


San Valentin

1 ounce Cazadores Reposado
1 ½ ounces pink guava nectar
¾ ounce raspberry liqueur
Top with Martini & Rossi Prosecco

San Valentin
 
In a mixing glass add Cazadores, guava nectar, raspberry liqueur and ice and shake. Pour in a Champagne glass and top with Prosecco. Garnish with a lemon twist.


Bitter Sweet Love

1 ½ ounces Belvedere Vodka
1 ounce cranberry juice
½ squeezed lime
Splash of pomegranate molasses
Splash of simple syrup
Edible flower petals

Shake and strain into Martini glass. Garnish with edible petals.


Corzo Amor

1 part Corzo Silver Rose petals and Hibiscus infusion*
¾ part St-Germain elderflower liqueur
Top with Champagne

Serve in a champagne glass and finish with a lemon twist.

Corzo Amor Cocktail

*Rose Petal and Hibiscus Infusion
1 bottle of Corzo Silver
4 fresh pineapple spears
¼ cup dry rose petals
8 dry hibiscus flowers
3 long orange zests
 
Cut fresh pineapple in thin, long spears. Cut fresh orange zest. Empty out 4 parts Corzo tequila from the bottle to make room for the fruit and flowers. Add fruit and flowers to the Corzo bottle and let the Corzo Silver infusion rest for a minimum of 24 hours.


Hopeless RomantiX CocktailHopeless RomantiX

1 ½ ounces X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
2 ounces Prosecco or Champagne
¼ ounce lemon juice
¼ ounce orange
¼ ounce pineapple

Muddle pineapple, orange and lemon. Add Prosecco and X-Rated Fusion Liqueur. Strain and serve in a highball glass and garnish with a pineapple slice.


Rouge Noir

1 ½ ounces Combier Rouge
½ ounce Combier Orange Liqueur
4 ounces Brut Champagne
1 orange zest

Pour Combier’s Rouge and Orange Liqueur in Champagne flute. Top with Champagne. Garnish with 1 orange zest.
