Yelp revealed its 25 Best New Restaurants of 2025, celebrating the best new eateries of the year. This year’s list highlights the freshest and most innovative new spots, as chosen by everyday diners from all corners of the country.
To create the ranking, Yelp identified full-service businesses in the restaurant category, which opened after January 1, 2024, They then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews, between January 1, 2024, and June 11, 2025. When available, all businesses on the list have a passing health score as of June 1, 2025. Finally, Yelp Trend Expert Tara Lewis consulted on the list and helped to zero in on what spots Yelpers were loving.
In compiling the list, a number of restaurant trends emerged:
Menus with a personal touch: This year’s top chefs are celebrating and paying homage to their familial roots.
Meat goes glam: America’s enthusiasm for high-quality meat has inspired this year’s chefs to serve it in more creative ways—from wagyu beef tasting boards and tallow-coated steaks, to flame-heated tableside knife service, protein is taking center stage.
Your food is on fire: Flames steal the spotlight this year as top chefs create sizzling presentations and dishes with deep, complex chars.
Fantasy, special effects, and snazzy stadium eats: Immersive and experiential dining experiences are in demand as guests yearn to be entertained!
