It’s the perfect time of year to throw an unforgettable holiday party at your bar or club. And when it comes to throwing an event during the most wonderful time of the year, anything goes. At its four Maryland locations, the Rams Head is hosting a Christmas spectacular, or as its called “Xmas Xtravaganza,” this Thursday, Dec. 16th. Starting at 5 p.m., the Rams Head gets into the holiday spirit by showing the holiday classic A Christmas Story on repeat while $2.50 cider and eggnog specials are served. Guests are also encouraged to bring homemade ornaments to trim the tree. And it doesn’t end there because the event culminates with its series of Christmas contests: the winner of Best Tackiest Christmas ornament wins a $25 Rams Head gift certificate, a bottle of wine goes to the winner with the Best Christmas Socks and four tickets to any Rams Head Live show until February 2011 is awarded to the Ugliest Sweater contest winner.
In Chicago, Global Adrenaline, Surreal and Y-Bar are hosting the fourth annual Y-ite X-mas White Party on Friday Dec. 17. Billy the Kid will provide the house music. Guests are asked to wear white attire to the event.
At Fontana’s Bar in NYC, its Heebonism Christmas Eve Bash, sponsored by Heeb Magazine, can’t be missed. It’s a rowdy affair that Heeb Magazine puts on in an effort to bring “Jews and gentiles together.” Surprise guests will be there, DJ Tropical Jeremy, Joshua Gabriel and DJ Kool Jew will provide musical entertainment and drink specials available from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Check out heebmagazine.com/events for more info.
The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas is pulling out all the stops for New Year’s. At Playboy Club, Kara Monaco and other Playmates will be toasting in the New Year, while at ghostbar, guests will have the best view of the Las Vegas fireworks from the 53rd floor in the Palms Tower. For the third year, Paul Oakenfold will be spinning at Rain on NYE as part of his Friday Perfecto series. And lastly LMFAO will be headlining the NYE Spectacular at Moon. The party doesn't end there, LMFAO will take the stage again on New Year’s Day when they perform at Rain.
The Kimberly Hotel rooftop lounge, Upstairs in NYC is offering a special party package for its New Year’s celebration. The package includes an open bar, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a Champagne toast at midnight, private tables, VIP room access, a DJ and party favors. And no worries, the rooftop remains warm because of its retractable roof, glass walls and heated floors, making this a can’t miss New Year’s Eve event.
The Abbey in West Hollywood is hosting its New Year’s Eve “Let Them Eat Cake” party. Inspired by Marie Antoinette, the party will transform with period-inspired living art, costumes, aerial performances and a new two-story DJ booth, with the hopes of “toasting to a year of prosperity.” For $100, guests receive unlimited premium drinks and appetizers inside the Ice Bar.
