Happy National Grand Marnier Day!

Enter the world of Grand Marnier, a premium cognac blend with hints of tropical oranges from the Carribean and fine cognac from France.

National Grand Marnier Day is annually observed on July 14th.

As a symbol of the friendship between the United States and France, Grand Marnier is an excellent choice. It is one of the most popular liqueurs sold in both countries. And it is widely used in cooking and cocktails.

The original liqueur, was created in 1880 by Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, the son of a wine and spirit merchant. The liqueur is made from cognac, a French variety of brandy produced in the wine-growing region surrounding the town of Cognac, distilled bitter orange essence, and sugar. It is 40% alcohol.

It can be consumed neat as a digestif or a cordial or used in cocktails and desserts.

Some examples of the mixed drinks including Grand Marnier are: Cosmopolitan, Margarita, Sidecar, Dirty Harry, Grand Mimosa, B-52, the Grand Marnier Smash, the Grand Smash, the Smash Marnier, the Bloody Smash, the Maced Marnier, the Ace Marnier Smash, the Frosty Smash, the Smace, the Grand Hound, the Blood Pug, the Clarke, the Nogley and the Grand Marnier Fireball.
