Chicago isn’t southern by any stretch of the imagination, but there are hordes of thirsty country music fans there. Faith & Whiskey capitalizes on that fact every Sunday with live country cover bands and drink specials geared toward country-music-loving clients.
“Country Night Sundays” features a rotating roster of bands that play country cover songs beginning at 9 p.m. Guests enjoy $3 16-ounce Pabst Blue Ribbon cans, $4 Southern Comfort shots or cocktails and $7 48-ounce pitchers of Old Style beer.
“Faith & Whiskey’s roots are a rock bar, and we feel having country and Southern rock live on our stage is a natural fit,” says owner Hunter Cannon. “We’ve found our patrons really latch onto our differing, long-running theme nights we have throughout the week, and Country Night Sunday is no exception.”
This Sunday night showcase also works because it draws attention to the bar’s extensive drink menu, which features more than 100 whiskey labels, Scotches and bourbons and a specialty cocktail list, designed by mixologist Brad Bolt. No cover is charged, but Cannon says the increased bar sales alone makes Country Night Sundays one event he has no intention of ending.
