World Cocktail Day is a celebration of the first historical record of the “cocktail” being used in printed material; appearing in the May 13, 1806 edition of The Balance and Columbian Repository. The cocktail was defined as “a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters.”
Even though cocktails today do not typically follow this formula, celebrating World Cocktail Day is a great way to bring attention to you venue and support the vastly growing and evolving beverage industry. So today, recognize the craftsmanship and skill of your bartender who have been mixing cocktails behind your bar, making customers happy and your business a success.
