On November 3, 2009, Pernod Ricard USA’s highly regarded BarSmarts Bartender Training Program – New York series - culminated with BarSmarts LIVE -- a full day program of instruction, education, mixology, testing, and formal certification for the programs top performers. The event on November 3 marks the 9th BarSmarts LIVE event held and the second to hit New York City. More than 900 hopeful bartenders have been educated since the highly touted BarSmarts program launched in the fall of 2008.
Local bartender talent including Misty Kalkofen from Drink in Boston, Jim Meehan from PDT in New York, Don Lee Momfuko and Eric Alprin from Varnish in LA were enlisted to help assist the BAR LLC team test the full-house gathering of bartending enthusiasts who participated to earn their coveted BarSmarts certification.
The BarSmarts LIVE event was held at the Marriott Marquis in Time Square and was hosted by the esteemed BAR, LLC partners who include: Dale DeGroff, Steve Olson, Doug Frost, F. Paul Pacult, Andy Seymour and David Wondrich.
BarSmarts and BarSmarts LIVE will also run in Las Vegas on December 9.
