(Atlanta, GA) GreenPlate, the nonprofit organization that works with local restaurants and organizations to become more eco-friendly, is holding a “fun-raising” party Monday, Nov. 2, at SweetWater Brewing Company, 195 Ottley Drive in Buckhead.
The party begins with a special event for the food service industry from 4 to 6 p.m. Restaurant owners and managers can find out how GreenPlate and their partners can assist in making their eateries eco-friendly by using local and organic food sources, water and energy efficiency, recycling, alternatives to plastics, staff education and more. Restaurateurs will also be introduced to HalfOffGreen.com, which invites diners and customers to enjoy half price cards for restaurants and businesses committed to sustainable practices.
From 6 to 9 p.m. the doors open to the public for a party featuring fabulous food, cold beer, bluegrass and rock-n-roll music, prizes and a chance to mix and mingle with other green friends. Local chefs who have committed to going green will be offering tastes from their menus, which can be washed down with SweetWater’s award-winning brews. There will be live music from Jeff Hix & The Heretic Band and Smokey’s Farmland Band all evening. Party-goers will have the chance to search SweetWater’s party room for hidden prizes and HalfOffGreen.com gift cards.
