Not only is January 1st the beginning of the New Year, it’s also National Bloody Mary Day. Part drink, part breakfast, all hangover cure — there’s no better way to kick off 2015 than with a kickin’ Bloody Mary.
2 oz. Premium Vodka
4 oz. tomato juice
1 Lemon wedges
1 Lime juice wedge
2 tsp. Prepared horseradish
2 Dash Worcestershire sauce
2 Dashes hot sauce
Pinch Ground black pepper
Pinch of salt
Garnish: Celery stalk and lime wedge
Pour some salt onto a small plate. Rub the juicy side of the lemon or lime wedge along the lip of a pint glass. Roll the outer edge of the glass in salt until fully coated. Fill with ice and set aside. Squeeze the lemon and lime wedges into a shaker and drop them in. Add the remaining ingredients and fill with ice. Gently “roll” from one cup to another until cold and mixed. Pour into the prepared glass. Garnish with a celery stalk and a lime wedge.
If you want to get crazy, consider adding one or more of the following: Pickle spear, pickled okra, blue cheese stuffed olives, bacon, lettuce, tomato wedge, horseradish, shrimp, mac and cheese skewers, more bacon.
