The September jobs report released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the U.S. economy added 254,000 jobs in August, and the unemployment rate dropped to 4.1%.
One of the big winners was the foodservice industry, with the report citing, "employment in food services and drinking places rose by 69,000 in September, well above the average monthly gain of 14,000 over the prior 12 months."
The employment gain is a win for an industry that has struggled to hire and retain workers, especially in the back-of-house.
