NCB Award Finalists Announced a Nightclub Categories

For the last several months, the staff at Nightclub & Bar has been hard at work managing the fast flow of nominations for the 2010 Nightclub & Bar Awards. The program highlights and recognizes the very best in the industry, with seven categories focusing on the nightclub and lounge side of the industry and another seven showcasing the best in the bar side of the business. All of the venues nominated were then submitted to a worthy panel of industry experts who whittled away nominations until the very best in each category were left standing as award Finalists.

While the economy and president preached prudence, club-goers were blissfully celebrating decadence, as evidenced by the big-budget venues dotting the Finalist list. Nowhere was excess celebrated more than at XS Nightclub, which landed as a Finalists in both the  Mega-Club and New Club categories, all while shattering revenue and attendance records. Both TAO Las Vegas and Opera in Atlanta got strong support in several categories, signaling ongoing success at both venues.

In the Best New Nightclub category, the West reigned supreme, perhaps finally catching up to the East Coast concentration of venues, with three California venues fighting with XS Nightclub for the award. Music-wise, it seems like the N9NE Group’s DJ spending spree has paid off in more ways than one — not only has it revived an almost decade-old RAIN Nightclub but it also landed two DJs as Finalists in the Best Resident DJ category (even with the untimely passing of the revered DJ AM) and got ’em another nod with the DJ-driven promotion Love Festival. The East Coast’s biggest showing came from the Big Apple outpost of super club Pacha, which just keeps packing them in.

Check out all of the Finalists below and stay tuned for the announcement of the winners!
