NCB Editorial Director Named IFEC President

CLEVELAND, OH—October 19, 2009—Nightclub & Bar Editorial Director Donna Hood Crecca has been elected the 2010 president of the International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) at its annual meeting last week in San Diego. She previously served as vice president of the council.
 
IFEC is a non-profit association for foodservice writers, editors and public relations professionals to develop relationships and improve the quality of business-to-business communication within the foodservice industry. It was launched in 1956 at the National Restaurant Association show and now comprises 250 members who represent leading magazines, food producers, operators and other organizations in the industry.
 
“Donna’s commitment to the foodservice and on-premise industry is as evident as ever with her election as IFEC president,” said Nightclub & Bar Publisher Sean Carr. “Her expertise is an asset to the magazine, and we are confident her experience will serve IFEC well this coming year.”
 
Hood Crecca has been writing about beverage alcohol in on-premise establishments and at retail for nearly two decades, and joined Nightclub & Bar in October 2008 as editorial director. Previously, she was editor of Cheers and had been a contributing editor to Chain Leader and editor of F&B Business. She has broad knowledge of bar, nightclub and restaurant marketing, operations, human resources and growth strategies, with specific expertise in beverage sales, promotion, service and training, having covered these topics for a number of industry magazines. She is a frequent presenter at industry events, including the Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show, Tales of the Cocktail, National Restaurant Association Show, Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) and the Alcohol Responsibility Conference.

She holds a bachelor degree in magazine journalism from Syracuse University and has done graduate work in magazine publishing management at New York University.
