The Chelsea nightlife scene in NYC is losing Porky’s but gaining The Yard, the newest venture from the Status Group. The grand opening, held Halloween weekend, featured a daytime pub crawl and a Halloween party at the end of New York’s Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. Artist Darren Boerkel created the ambiance in The Yard using images of the South Street Seaport such as the old shipyards, as well as junkyards found around Citifield and a Brooklyn backyard barbecue.


The Gerber Group is opening Whiskey Blue, W Lounge and Red 2 One on Nov. 17 in Santiago, Chile, as part of the group’s longstanding partnership with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s W brand. The two companies have collaborated on 21 projects worldwide over the past 10 years. The three lounges at W Santiago exude a cool, contemporary design that reflects the look, feel and sounds of Chile, using materials that range from glass and chrome to marble and leather. www.starwoodhotels.com/whotels


Next weekend, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar opens in Las Vegas’ Town Square. Each night, four piano entertainers take the stage in two-person rotations to perform hits from every era on two baby grand pianos, and also will take the stage together. This is the fifth incarnation of Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar (four locations exist in Texas: Austin, Addison, Fort Worth and Houston). www.petesduelingpianobar.com


Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina opens in Huntington Beach, Calif., next Wednesday. This is the seventh California location for the growing Baja-inspired restaurant and bar. The menu features Baja cuisine, from calamari and shrimp to tacos and fajitas. Rockin’ Baja also offers a custom drink menu, including handcrafted Margaritas and specialty rum drinks. The interior is a surf-shack theme with beach-inspired décor, including funky artwork, rustic signage, surfboards, brightly colored walls and hand-painted murals. www.rockinbaja.com


C2 Limited Design Associates unveiled Prime 44 West at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. The steakhouse honors basketball legend Jerry West and is the first phase of the Greenbrier’s casino project, set to open in April. Prime 44 West is a warm, intimate space offering a “diner’s club” feel with its 100 seats accented by burgundy and chocolate brown hues and West sports memorabilia. www.greenbrier.com/site/Prime44West.aspx
