Pernod Releases Limited Edition aHommage A Picassoa Bottle To Honor Long-Standing Relationship With the Arts

PURCHASE, NY (March 6, 2009) – Pernod®, the distinct licorice flavored aperitif from France is announcing that flagship Pernod® 80 Proof will be taking on a slightly modified look with a special “Hommage a Picasso” commemorative label. This limited edition label honors the strong relationship between Pernod and the arts and will be featured at several Picasso exhibits currently taking place in the USA, including the new exhibit at the Gogosian Gallery in New York March 26-June 6.

“Pernod has been a strong supporter of the arts since the brand debuted in France more than 200 years ago,” notes Brian Eckert, Pernod Brand Manager for Pernod Ricard USA. “Since its debut, Pernod has been a favorite drink among the cultural elite including Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and Poe. We thought it fitting to honor this relationship with the release of our first limited edition label dedicated to the artistry of Pablo Picasso.”

The cases will be a simple swap-in keeping the same SKU # for both bottle and shipper. The product and specs all remain the same as current Pernod Classic. The only difference is the back label. Inventories will arrive at distributor beginning in March. Suggested retail will remain the same for all markets. A product sheet and shelf talker art will be made available in support of this new limited edition pack.
