Rhuby, the only craft rhubarb liqueur from Sweden, is preparing for this year’s annual Pink Your Drink, an all-female bartender competition raising money for the Pink Ribbon and promoting women’s role in the industry.
Created in 2011 by Rhuby Liqueur’s founder and owner, Ylva Binder, the competition is now in its third year and bigger than ever. Being held in New York’s Dead Rabbit, London’s Callooh Callay and Magic Bar in Stockholm, it will run during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Each contestant will make three drinks; a classic, an original creation, and their submitted signature Rhuby cocktail. This year’s judges include Gary Regan, Simon Ford, Ivy Mix, and Jolene Cadwell to mention but a few. The winner in each country wins a trip to Rhuby’s homeland – Sweden – to see how the liqueur is made. Rhuby, of course, maintains a close relationship with the finalists after the competition. Past finalists have not only taken up the role of hosting or judging Pink Your Drink, but also get the opportunity to work as brand ambassadors for Rhuby.
In conjunction with the competition, the PYD team has evolved the PINK THE BAR and PINK THE MENU concept where more venues can partake and create specific menus to drive awareness and raise funding throughout the month of October.
Pink Your Drink will be held on the following dates:
October 6th - Callooh Callay (London)
October 12th - Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog (New York City)
October 29th - Magic Bar (Stockholm)
