A bevy of new reads dedicated to mixology, cocktails and bar culture are hitting bookshelves. Here’s a quick peek at a few:

The Modern Mixologist: Contemporary Classic Cocktails — On March 26, Tony Abou-Ganim and Mary Elizabeth Faulkner will release this new guide to mixology (Agate Surrey, $35). The Modern Mixologist combines 60 drink recipes with tips, cocktail history and more.

Japanese Cocktails: Mixed Drinks with Saké, Shochu, Whisky and More — In partnership with Suntory, Yuri Kato, journalist and founder of CocktailTimes.com, debuts Japanese Cocktails (Chronicle Books, $14.95), a book dedicated to creative cocktail recipes, Japanese liquor production and bartending methods.

The Bar Green Book — Red Book Solutions and the National Restaurant Association will release NRA editions of The Bar Green Book as well as The Manager’s Red Book and The Heart of the House Yellow Book, all guides that include critical information on NRA’s ServSafe and ServSafe Alcohol programs.

Blue Vegas — Vegas bar operator P Moss, in conjunction with CityLife Books, released Blue Vegas, a collection of 17 of Moss’ fictional short stories capturing the spirit of Vegas. The book probes “the dark, human stories lurking in the neon shadows” and explores topics like the clash between the old and new Vegas and the lives of has-been showgirls, gamblers and more.
