Sazerac Glass & Tomato Inspiration

Official Sazerac GlassThough many drinks can call New Orleans home, the one that stands above the rest is the Sazerac, the official cocktail of the city of New Orleans. The cocktail, often referred to as History in a Glass as of late, now has its own glass. Tales of the Cocktail and the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society are selling the Official Cocktail of New Orleans Sazerac Glass for holiday gifts. Money raised will support the efforts of these two non-profit organizations. Glasses are available now online; a set of four boxed glasses is $30.00.

Help for mixologists is coming from all sources — Red Gold, the producer of Sacramento Tomato Juice, is offering a new take on tomato-juice-inspired recipes for interested bartenders in its Sacramento Bar Drink Recipe Booklet. Working with Chicago chef Charlie Baggs, who has plied his craft at Ambria and Spiaggia in Chicago, the Marriott Corp. and Walt Disney, Red Gold came up with the Bloody Orange Mojito, Tomato Sour and Mango Tomango, among others. The company looked at some of the most popular mixed drink trends in bars and nightclubs to upgrade tomato juice usage beyond Bloody Marys, and the recipes are available by calling (888) 926-7028, ext. 45. Ask for the Sacramento Bar Drink Recipe Booklet, which includes a trial offer coupon on Sacramento Tomato Juice products. The recipes are also available online any time here.
