Speaker Line-Up Set for NBWAas 72nd Annual Convention & Trade Show

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Two extraordinary individuals who have achieved great success throughout their tremendous careers – Hall of Fame baseball player Johnny Bench and renowned business expert Jason Jennings – will speak during the General Session at the upcoming National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) 72nd Annual Convention & Trade Show September 22 -25 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in January 1989, Johnny Bench has been called “the greatest catcher ever” by Sporting News. Bench was also named the 16th greatest player of all time. While he is often remembered for his offense on the baseball field, he may have had his greatest impact at bat.

“Who didn’t want to add Johnny Bench’s baseball card to their collection? Game statistics prove just how great he was on the field, but now the beer industry will get to hear about his fascinating life and leadership contributions off the field,” said Craig Purser, president of NBWA. “Johnny Bench  is a successful author, television broadcaster, entertainer and community leader who is sure to provide excellent insight with his own particular blend of credibility and wit. Johnny Bench and Jason Jennings, who spent more than 20 years building successful businesses and helping them to achieve their economic potential, are sure to be a winning combination that will hit the ball out of the park. You don’t want to miss the two-day General Session at this year’s Annual Convention & Trade Show.”

Jennings began his career as a broadcast journalist, became the youngest radio station group owner and founded the largest media consulting company in the country. He has studied over 72,000 companies to learn what ingredients make the fastest-growing, most productive companies with the greatest leaders.

“These two individuals have made great achievements in their industries – and their advice and stories about how each attained success is sure to give Convention attendees ideas, insights and tactics to grow independent beer distribution companies and to be leaders in our own industry,” continued Purser.

This year’s General Session will also feature two panel discussions – “It’s Not Your Father’s Beer Business: How the World has Changed” and “Because Alcohol is Different.” Attendees will also hear the latest updates from NBWA elected leaders and other industry insiders.
