These are the bars ranked 1-50 in this year's edition of The World's 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier, in a ceremony on October 8 in Hong Kong.
The World’s 50 Best Bars is an annual list that celebrates the best of the international drinks industry. First published in 2009, it provides an annual ranking of bars as voted for by more than 800 drinks experts from across the globe. The World's 50 Best Bars list is compiled from the votes of The World's 50 Best Bars Academy, which includes renowned bartenders and consultants, drinks writers, and cocktail specialists.
Taking home the number-one spot was Bar Leone in Hong Kong. The bar may be in the heart of China, but it celebrates cocktail popolari, Italian pop-culture and the art of classic bartending. It was opened in June 2023 by multi-award-winning Italian bartender Lorenzo Antinori.
Mexican and European bars rounded out the rest of the top five:
- #2 Handshake Speakeasy, Mexico City
- #3 Sips, Barcelona
- #4 Paradiso, Barcelona
- #5 Tayēr + Elementary, London
Five U.S. bars made the list, with the highest ranking going to SUPERBUENO, at number 12. Created by renowned industry vet Ignacio “Nacho” Jimenez in collaboration with Cocktail Kingdom Hospitality Group, SUPERBUENO blends Mexican and New York City cultures for a unique cocktail and culinary experience. The cocktail menu highlights drinks inspired by beloved Mexican dishes and ingredients while the food menu takes a New York City perspective on Mexican street food.
