San Francisco, California - A Bar Above, the bar and mixology training company, announces the inaugural Craft Bartender Summit: a new web-based event designed to make a craft bar education free and convenient for every bartender with an internet connection. The Summit will take place on April 17th, 2016 and is poised to reach the tens of thousands of hospitality professionals who can’t otherwise attend industry conferences due to budget and travel constraints.
“For years we’ve heard bartenders say they want to attend educational seminars but can’t get their shifts covered or afford the cost of travel,” said Julia Tunstall, co-founder of A Bar Above and the host of the summit, “this event is our way of helping make a craft bar education accessible and affordable to every bartender worldwide.”
The Summit features a unique format to make the seminars easily accessible while keeping the event interactive and engaging. On the day of the event, seminars will be screened on the web alongside a chat window. Attendees can watch from anywhere, and ask questions to the presenter in the live chat. Free replays will be available for those unable to join the “live” screening on April 17th, and supplemental seminar materials will also be provided to all registrants.
“It’s hard enough to find time for education when you’re working as a bartender, so we’re trying to make it as easy as possible,” Julia Tunstall continued , “whether you join the live screenings or watch the recaps later on, our goal is to help you learn something you can implement in your very next shift.”
Presentations focus on the skills and challenges that craft bartenders face behind the bar, including topic areas such as craft bar techniques, business skills, product knowledge and careers beyond the bar. The final agenda with seminar topics and speakers will be announced in coming weeks. Registration is free and open to all bartenders and beverage industry professionals of legal drinking age.
